What to do when your trust has been broken

What to do when your trust has been broken

Breaking of trust is devastating whether it's a friendship, romantic relationship, or family bond. Here are some biblically based principles to help you recover once trust has been broken.

Step 1. Accept the situation for what it is.

Once the trust is gone it's hard to recover. So we must learn better ways of approaching relationships. Too often people turn relationships into power struggles. We live in a world where we're taught to dominate and use people, rather than to care for people. But Godly love has nothing to do with manipulation. Godly love is built on trust. Today spend some time looking in the mirror and ask yourself, "Can the people I'm connected to trust me with their life?" And for those of you who've recently been hurt in a relationship where someone violated your trust be reminded today that you serve a God you can place your trust in. Our God can heal broken hearts and show us how to love others the way He has loved us.
